Blessing of the animals

The annual Blessing of animals, co-hosted by the Episcopal Church of the Messiah and St. William Catholic Church, will be held at St. William pavilion, 765 Andrews Rd., Murphy, on Sunday, october 8th at 2:00 p.m. the blessing will be conducted by Frs. James Johnson of Messiah and George Kloster of St. William. Members of the two host churches as well as the entire community are invited to bring their pets for the blessing.

The event is held each year near the feast of St. Francis of Assissi who was noted for his love of animals.
