Award-winning western music duo Jim and Jeanne Martin - "The Rockin' M Wranglers" - will be presenting a benefit concert for the Peacock Playhouse in Hayesville, N.C. on Saturday, February 24 at 7 p.m.
This upcoming show will consist of a collection of Classic Cowboy songs, Championship Yodeling, a "Special Surprise Guest" and more. It is geared to the whole family and will provide something for everyone.
Jim and Jeanne Martin began their 17 year career in western music in Ruidoso, N.M. Jim was the bass player and baritone singer at the ever popular "Flying J Ranch Chuckwagon" back in 1989 and 1990. From there, they have traveled all over the United States singing and yodeling to their many friends and fans.
In 2005 the Martins were voted in as one of the "Top Five for Duo/Group of the Year" in the Western Music Association.
Among their most recent accomplishments of 2006, they received the "Rising Legend" award from the National Traditional Country Music Association, Inc. Also in 2006, Jim and Jeanne were privileged to have backed up Rex Allen, Jr. and also were the opening act for "Riders In The Sky." The Martins will be the featured western act at "Fiddlers Feast" dinner theater in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. beginning on April 1.
