Edith Kephart

Edith Helen Kephart, 80, of Owl Creek Road, Murphy, died Thursday, May 3, 2007, at home.

A native of Cherokee County, she was born Feb. 25, 1927. She was the daughter of the late William Franklin and Sarah Nettie Kilby Roberts.

She was an employee of Clifton Precision Inc.

She loved the Lord and her church family at Owl Creek Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member. Her joy in life was taking care of her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Willard Barton Kephart, on April 30, 2007; four brothers, Calvin Roberts, Clyde Roberts, Lincoln Roberts and Richard Roberts; three sisters, Martha Garrett, Mabel Mashburn and Leona Garrett; and an infant brother.

Surviving are two sons and their wives, Gene and Carolyn Kephart and Neal and Charlene Kephart, all of Murphy; two daughters and their husbands, Loretta and Bill O'Dell and Glenda and Jim Allison, all of Murphy; nine grandchildren,

Keating, Larry and Tracy Kephart, Janet

and Eric Radford,

Murphy; 11 great-grandchildren,

Anderson, Chantal Collins, Cory Raper, Kendal Keating, Sarah Radford, Nathan Kephart, Jesse Kephart, Tiffany Raper, James Radford, B.J. Collins and Luke Radford; one sister, Rowena Hensley of Hendersonville; two sisters-in-law, Bessie Roberts and Grace Hembree, both of Murphy; several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made In Memory of Edith Helen Kephart to the Gideon Memorial Bible Chairman, P.O. Box 164, Murphy, NC 28906.
