Harrah's Cherokee Casino and Hotel to release $100,000 trout

Harrah's Cherokee, in conjunction with Cherokee Travel and Tourism and Cherokee Fish and Game, will release 300 trout into a fabricated tank at 6p.m. on Saturday, May 19. (NOTE: The time originally was scheduled for noon.) All trout have a unique identifying tag with a number between one and 300. One unique numbered fish from among the 300 tagged fish will be identified as the prize fish representing a $100,000 cash prize.

At 9 p.m. on Saturday, May 19, 25 randomly drawn participants will each have one minute in which to attempt to catch a tagged fish. Participants may catch one fish only. At the end of the contest, the names of the participants who have caught fish and the corresponding tag numbers will be announced publicly. Following this announcement, a master envelope containing the number of the $100,000 fish will be opened and announced.
