Appalachian Land Company marks employee retirement with Thanksgiving dinner in April

Steve and Jo Crowe, owners/brokers of Appalachian Land Company, hosted a retirement party for Joan Carringer Mrs. Carringer retired after almost 13 years with the company, having served on the administrative staff
Carringer's family and friends, along with the staff of Appalachian, gathered at the offices on Thursday afternoon, April 19, to mark the occasion with a "Thanksgiving Dinner" complete with turkey, dressing and all the trimmings. "We are so thankful for Joan's years of faithful service and the many ways she has contributed to the company's growth," stated Jo Crowe, Appalachian owner. "We felt a Thanksgiving dinner, even though it's April, was most appropriate."
When asked to comment on her years with Appalachian Land Company, Mrs. Carringer fondly recalled all the times that everyone the agency was so supportive when she walked through some difficult times. "The folks at Appalachian really are like family," Carringer said. "I'll miss you all, but I look forward to sleeping past sunrise if I want to!"
