Cast announced for Licklog's "The Sound of Music" HARRISON KEELY Sentinel Writer The show will run July 19-22, 27-29 and August 3-5 at the Peacock Playhouse in Hayesville, N.C. and is rated PG13 by theater standards. The lead of Maria Rainer will be played by Desiree Lulay. Fellow nuns Sister Berthe, Sister Sophia and Mother Abbess will be played by Allyson Blomley, Annie Suminski and Lois Ann Wentzel respectively. The role of Captain Von Trapp will be played by Brian Barrentine. Betty Rowland will be Frau Schmidt, Michelle Stewart will be Liesl, Alex Drost will play Friedrich, Carly Payseur will be Louisa, Trevor Barber will play Kurt, Katherine Byxbee will play Brigitta, Julia Lindsey will be Marta and Aspen Fine will act as Gretl. Rolf Gruber will be played by Karl Snow and Janice Minette will play Elsa Schraeder. Danielle Balsamo will be Ursula and Matt McGee will play Max Detweiller. Frau Zeller will be played by Debbie Stewart. Baron and Baroness Elberfeld will be played by Tom Payne and Judy Kirk respectively. Admiral von Schreiber will be played by Michael Lindsey and neighbors will be played by Cody Riffle and Jesse Sommervell. Contestants include Hunter Payseur, Paul Roche Jr., Christopher Drost and Beth Payseur. Additional nuns in the show will be played by Balsamo, Faye Hobbs, Rivkah Holder, Rocsanne Tabulinar, Leslie Stevens, Sonya Burleson, Barbara Walker, Ashley Jones, Jade Collins, Rebecca Robinson and Stephanie Fiscarelli. The story about the Von Trapp family, the mending of the distance that had generated between them and their exile from their beloved Austria is a stirring tale. "The Sound of Music" features some of the best-known music of the stage and is a classic play enjoyed by all ages. Many members of the cast are veterans of the stage.
