Sharing and caring

The volunteers, officers, and directors of the Cherokee County Sharing Center would like to thank the community and the Murphy and Marble letter carriers for their efforts and support of the 15th Anniversary Letter Carriers Food Driver. On May 12th, the letter carriers delivered approximately 2.5 tons of food to the Sharing Center for distributions to those in need in our community.

The Sharing Center has 70 volunteers from seven local churches. It is open from 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays (except holidays) and is located in the basement of the First United Methodist Church in Murphy. In 2006, 2,111 families were served with 36% of those assisted being children. Requests for more information or to offer assistance, please contact the Cherokee County Sharing Center at P.O. The success of the drive is a reflection of the caring and community spirit in our area and is much appreciated by those at the Sharing Center and it's patron.
