      Fatback's Citgo got more business than it asked for on Wednesday when a fight between two local men arose in the parking lot of the gas station. Bradley James Rice, 22, and Heith Ramsey Burns, 20, were arrested after eight calls were made to the Murphy Police Department of a fight in progress.

Oliver trial set for September

      Lonnie Oliver, a 52-yearold Murphy High School teacher, has been appointed a trial date for mid September. Oliver, who turned himself in to authorities at the Cherokee County Sheriff''s Department, has been accused of inappropriate sexual contact with a 15-year-old female student.
