Oliver trial set for September

Lonnie Oliver, a 52-yearold Murphy High School teacher, has been appointed a trial date for mid September.

Oliver, who turned himself in to authorities at the Cherokee County Sheriff''s Department, has been accused of inappropriate sexual contact with a 15-year-old female student.

District Attorney Melissa Jackson said that the trial could take up to half a day. Oliver is charged with one count of sexual battery.
