Steve Hickman and John Devine to perform at Folk School June 22

Fiddler Steve Hickman and guitarist John Devine will perform a wide variety of country, folk, bluegrass, Irish, swing and traditional old time music Friday, June 22 at the John C. Campbell Folk School.
Fiddler Steve Hickman and guitarist John Devine will be featured in a free concert at the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, N.C. at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, June 22. The concert will be held in the Festival Barn but those attending are urged to park near the Keith House or the Dining Hall and walk to the Festival Barn where there will be only a limited number of handicapped parking spaces available. In the barn there is hay bale seating, so audience members may wish to bring a lawn chair for comfort. Admission is free.

Steve Hickman and John Devine are well-known performers from King George, Virginia and Berkely Springs, West Virginia respectively who have served as staff musicians for a number of folk school music and dance programs over the years. Steve Hickman has toured with numerous bands singing and playing fiddle and harmonica for more than 20 years. He is especially wellknown for his mastery of the art of "hambone" or body percussion. John Devine specializes in contemporary folk songs as well as standards from the 1930's and 1940's. Together, Hickman and Devine play a wide variety of country, folk, bluegrass, Irish, swing and traditional old time music.

Upcoming concert series performers at the folk school include Lorinda Jones (July 29) and The Greenfield Contra Dance Band (July 13). The Friday night concert schedule is available on the world wide web at www.folkschool.org.
