Mildred Golden
Mildred Prince Golden, age 79 of Murphy, died Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at her home. She was born Thursday, July 21, 1927 in Isabella, TN to the late Henry Prince and the late Lena Hampton Prince. She was a member of Simonds Chapel Baptist Church. Mrs. Golden loved her Lord and her family. She loved singing, camping, dolls, flowers and birds. She was preceded in death by husband, James W. Golden, an infant son, Don and two sisters, Pauline Elliott and Wanda Tysinger.
Survivors include: daughters and sons-in-law, Joan and Ronnie Helton, Kathy and David Gentry, Sherri Golden , Peggy and Ashley Graham, Connie and Randy Curtis and Revonda and Tim Simonds, sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Shirlene Golden, Ned and Nancy Golden, Warren and Trish Golden and Mark and Linda Golden, all of of Murphy, NC, sisters, Madelyn Duvall and Kathleen Wood and brothers, Clifford and Winston Prince, all of Lexington, NC, special sister-inlaw, Lou Forrester of Murphy, NC, special caregiver, Sue Ware, granddaughters, Kim Patterson, Lindi Gentry, Megan Curtis, Rebekah Simonds, Kayala Golden and Erica Golden, grandsons, Aaron Gentry, Darren Golden, Andy Graham, Dustin Golden, Cody Golden, Dakota Curtis and
Joseph Simonds and great
grandchildren, Alicia
and Ashlyn Gentry
and Emily and Eli
Patterson. Many
other relatives
and friends also
survive where
Mrs. Golden was
known by many
children in the
community as
"Mamaw".
Funeral services
were held Friday June 22, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of the Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Warren Golden, Rev. Ned Golden and Rev. Charles Cheatham officiating. Music was provided by Allen and Leslie Harris and Charles Cheatham. Interment was in Simonds Chapel Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were: Aaron Gentry, Darren Golden, Andy Graham, Dustin Golden, Cody Golden, Dakota Curtis and Joseph Simonds.
