A high calling
The steeple of the First Baptist Church of Murphy, a landmark seen from various locations in the city, is being taken down for a facelift and remodeling, said Aaron Ramsey, who along with his dad, Merlin Ramsey, own Ramsey Crane Service, located in Murphy. Greg Hill is preparing the steeple for a cable to go through the middle of the steeple so that it can be lifted off by a crane. Murphy First Baptist Pastor Rick Edwards said a sixfoot cross will be added to the steeple.
