Brasstown Concert Association elects officers

Daeadalus Quartet will open Brasstown Concert Association's 34th season on September 16, 2007. Arts
Brasstown, NC -- Brasstown Concert Association (BCA) has elected officersfor its 2007-2008 season. Karen Borchers, of Murphy, was reelected President; David Cook, of Blairsville, was re-elected Vice President and Secretary; and Don Best, of Brasstown, was elected Treasurer. "The Brasstown Concert Association has been busy bringing outstanding musical performances to our area for 34 years, and I'm honored to continue working with our committed board of directors," said Borchers. "The upcoming season will be an especially exciting one, with an outstanding schedule of concerts as well as several special events."

In addition to the officers, other BCA board directors are: Betty Best, Benetta Cook, Bob Grove, George Heilner, Paul Herbert, Suzi Herbert, Rosemarie Kelischek, Athena MacKeller, Pat Meinecke, and Mike Thompson.

BCA will present the following artists during its upcoming season: classical string ensemble Daedalus Quartet on September 16, 2007, Spanish folk ensemble La Musgana on October 14, 2007, early music instrumentalist Wayne Hankin on November 11, 2007, Russian music and dance ensemble Moscow Nights and Golden Gates on January 20, 2008, classical pianist Anne Oland on March 23, 2008, and early music ensemble Musica Vera Consort on April 6, 2008.

Concerts begin at 2:30pm in the Keith House of John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC except for the concert by Moscow Nights and Golden Gates which will be held at the Peacock Playhouse in Hayesville, NC. Full-season and halfseason tickets are available in advance, or individual tickets are available at the door without a reservation.
