      It was cooler with the fish than with the musicians. Maybe fish are smarter than rock and rollers. They know how to get out of the heat. On the first day of our twoday Atlanta sojourn, we visited the new Georgia Aquarium, home to whale sharks, beluga whales and many other varieties of sea life.

      In response to several letters favoring the approval of liquor by the drink in our area, the Rev. Mashburn wrote about his failure to understand why Baptists would vote to approve such a referendum. I'll share with you why I think even the Baptists should be voting for this.

      Unfortunatley, many tax-funded animal shelters "still" use carbon monoxide gas chambers to kill unwanted cats and dogs. This method is considered to be outdated and inhumane. And yes, your taxes are funding it! The poor animals which find themselves in a gas chamber do not die quickly or painless...
