Dogs crush SM 52-21

      The Murphy Bulldogs Friday recovered from their previous week's defeat to blast Smokey Mountain 52-21. The Dogs couldn't be stopped as they had 363 net yards of offense, including several long touchdown plays in their first game at the newly renovated stadium.

Wildcats fall to Allegany 20-10

      The Allegany Trojans traveled more than five hours to get to Andrews High School Friday and they were rewarded with a 20-10 victory. Andrews was never out of the game even to the last play when Chris Ackerman caught a 30-yard pass as time expired.

      The Cherokee County Eagles, the region's semi-pro football team, will play the Charleston Hawks Saturday at 7 p.m. at Murphy High School.

      Wildwater Rafting saw a momentous start for its first annual Raft for The Cure. An event to raise money and heighten awareness for breast cancer, Wildwater raised $11,452.00 which will be be shared by both the Charlotte and Chattanooga Komen For The Cure affiliates.
