      A Cherokee County man is in jail after beating a woman bad enough that her injuries are considered life threatening. Nathan Daniel Leatherwood is charged with beating the woman at his residence at 20 Leatherwood Road in Peachtree.

October is domestic violence awareness month
      REACH, INC will hold their annual Phone-a-thon on October 8th through the 11th. They hope the locals will give a small donation when volunteer calls. Last year REACH, INC. served 993 women and children and provided 3,097 shelter nights to those in need.
