Lloyd Cash, of Peachtree Hills, has owned this 1949 Custom Chop Top Mercury for about a month. He was taking it for a spin Thursday through Murphy. The Mercury has been reworked inside and out. It has a 327 motor, an "old, reliable Chevy engine", Cash said. The 1949 Mercury didn't look like this. The top of that car was "more straight", Cash said. The top of this vehicle has been dropped and the back of the top has been lowered.
