The Cherokee County Senior Games are now official

North Carolina Senior Games, Inc. is pleased to announce that The Cherokee County Senior Games has been sanctioned as an official qualifying site for the State Finals 2008.

The Cherokee county Senior Games will be held in various venues in and around Cherokee County in Spring 2008.

Cherokee County Senior Games will be offering competition in many sports and art activities, such as golf, bowling, team sports, swimming, bocce, painting, pottery and poetry. In addition Cherokee Senior Games will offer Cheerleading and the Silver Striders walking program among other special activities throughout the year. The Cherokee County Senior Games will be presented by the Parks and Recreation Department and sponsored by a variety of local businesses and organizations.

North Carolina Senior Games, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing year-round health promotion and wellness for adults 55 years of age and better. NCSG, Inc. is sponsored statewide by the N. C. Division of Aging and Adult Services.
