Ruth Wilson

Mrs. Ruth Logan Wilson, 91, died Monday, October 1, 2007. Ruth was born in Gainesville, GA to Dr. and Mrs. William L Logan. She graduated from Brenau College and began a career teaching math and history, first in Gainesville and then in Murphy, NC. Following her retirement in 1976, Ruth became an active volunteer at the Murphy Public Library and Murphy Medical Center, where she served until 2006. She was a longtime member of Murphy Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday School classes for over 30 years.

Ruth is survived by daughters Carolyn Plumb of Greensboro, NC, and Lucy Garrett and husband, Lloyd, of Hayesville, NC; granddaughters Karen Parker Garrett, Katherine Logan Davis, and Sarah Emily Plumb; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Harvey Wilson, Jr., and her son, Joseph Harvey Wilson, III.
