15th Annual CROP Walk
      The fifteenth annual Cherokee County CROP walk was held October 14th in Murphy. Nancy Yates, the walk organizer, said "The walk was the best one yet and a big success!" The walk had a record turnout with more than 230 walkers who raised over $16,000.

Sioux Tools officially changes name to Snap-on
      Snap-on Power Tools Friday unveiled its new sign signifying that it has changed its name from Sioux Tools. About 200 employees, all in Snap-on shirts, posed for pictures beneath the new sign. Robert Hartman, director of manufacturing, said Snap-on is the parent company.
