Fall Festival at Murphy Elementary School Saturday - October 27th from 11 - 3 in the school gym.

Grape Creek Community Club will hold
it's annual Fall Festival on Thursday, October 25th beginning at 5:00 p.m.

Grace Fellowship Baptist Hallelujah Night October 31st 6:30 - 9:00 p.m.
Ages 0-18 welcome.

Haunted Studio on Friday, October 26 and
Saturday October 27, 2007 from 7:00 p.m.
- ? at the Dance Classics Studio (located opposite
end of Save A Lot Shopping Center in
Murphy and near Urgent Care Center). Proceeds
will benefit participating Junior and Senior Elite
dance competition team members. Adults:
$5.00, Children under age 12: $3.00

Jail Ministry Training Session Tuesday
October 30th starting at 7 p.m. at the Murphy
Presbyterian Church(house located behind the
church). If anyone has any questions they can
call Rev. Alan Wildsmith at the Murphy
Presbyterian Church 837-6153.

Knitting and Spinning Lessons:
"From How to Knit to Knitting Design",
Monday mornings 10-12 and Monday evenings
7-9. "Spinning Saturdays", 9-12
noon, once a month. Call Martha at Yarn

Marine Corps Birthday Ball will be held on
Saturday, November 10th at 6:00 p.m. at
the Ballroom in Murphy. All Marines, Marine
families and friends of Marines are invited to
attend. Tickets are $25 and are available by calling
321-4479 or 837-3035 or at the door. Please
buy a ticket or RSVP by November 5th.
Meet the Eagles/Alumni Night will be held on
Friday, November 9 at the Hiwassee High
School gymnasium beginning at 6 p.m. It will be
a fun night and the basketball teams will be
introduced. Admission is free. Donations will be
accepted.

Monster Mash - Halloween Costume Party ^
October 27th - at Valley Town Cultural Arts
Center. Proceeds go to bathroom upgrades,
donations accepted and are tax deductible. Ed
Cloud will DJ. Costume Contest. Costume not
required to attend. $25 per couple or $15 each.
8-11 p.m. Tickets at door.
Murphy Community Blood Drive at First
United Methodist Church (71 Valley River
Avenue, Murphy) 1:30 to 6:00 p.m. Monday,
November 12th. Please call 837-3889 for more
information or to make an appointment. All presenting
donors can enter a drawing for 2 Delta Air
Lines domestic round-trip tickets.
Penny Johnson will be the featured artist
October 15-December 31 at Shoebooties
Cafe located in downtown Murphy. Penny is a
watercolorist painting portraits and local landscapes.

Toys for tots 2007 will be signing up families
served by REACH Inc, Family Resources,
Dept of Social Services, Church groups, and
other needy families in and around the Murphy
area starting on Tuesday and Thursdays
Novemeber 15th-17th, 22nd-23rd, 29th, and
December 1st, 4th through 2nd week of
December are the last days to sign up. Hours will
be from 9:00 a.m. til 12:00 noon and 1:00 p.m. -
3:00 p.m. No other sign ups will be honored after
those dates. There will be no duplicate sign ups.
Sign up will be upstairs in the white Family
Resource House down the hill in the back of the
courthouse. Families served by Andrews, Marble
and Hayesville should check their local papers
for their sign up info. Families will be given their
pick up dates and place at time of registration.

Veterans Day Memorial service at 11:00
a.m. at the Memorial Corner Park in downtown
Murphy. The event is hosted by the local
Veterans of Foreign Wars chapter.
