Josie Davis

Josie Allen Davis, 96, passed from this life into Eternal Rest on October 20 at College Pines Nursing Facility.

She was born June 30, 1911 in Violet, N.C. to the late Charles Theodore Allen and Mary Farner Allen. She loved the Lord and was happiest when sharing His love with others. She was a long time member and Sunday School Teacher at Highland Baptist Church in Hickory.

Josie married Oscar R. Davis in 1933. They had been married 51 years when he died in 1985. Both were retired from Hickory Manufacturing Co.

Josie was the youngest child and was preceded in death by six sisters and two brothers.

Survivors include, a son Don Davis and his wife Kay of Hickory, four daughters; Corena Russell and her husband James of Nebo, Lois Julian and her husband Allen of Valdese, Shirley Buff of Morganton and Linna Edwards and her husband Jack of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, two great - great grandchildren and many dear nieces and nephews
