The AE21* students from Murphy Adventist Christian School visited Boston, MA, for their fall trip. About 120 people from AE21 sites around North America joined their fellow students in this historical city. The students divided into three groups for varying activities. The largest group went to the Boston Aquarium, followed by a whale watching adventure where many hump back whales were spotted and enjoyed. A second group took a tour of the city where they walked the Black Freedom Trail, rode on the Boston Ducks, and then visited Old Ironsides (the oldest commissioned ship in the Navy). The third group visited the JFK Museum.

On one day of their trip these teenagers spent time working at a YMCA camp doing a variety of jobs. Some cut trails out of the woods, others cleaned windows and swept decks, and still others spread mulch around a large outdoor basketball court and then swept off debris that had accumulated on the court during recent rain storms.

An evening banquet with a 70s-80s theme was enjoyed by the students. The following day the students returned to the city of Boston and walked portions of the famous Freedom Trail where one of the highlights was a visit to the Paul Revere home.

They also went to the site where the first shot of the Revolutionary War was fired. As a final activity the group enjoyed an afternoon on a beach at Cape Cod.

*AE21 is a high school program offered through video conferencing.
