On Sunday, October 21st a new chapter of the Order of St. Luke was installed at The Episcopal Church of the Messiah in Murphy, North Carolina. This order of clergy and lay members is devoted to the study and practice of Christian healing ministry and is an ecumenical ministry that is international in scope. Members of the order have completed a study of the healing scriptures in the New Testament and completed additional study of healing literature. A weekly healing service is held at Messiah every Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m. with prayers, holy unction and the laying on of hands for healing. In addition, junction and the laying on of hands are offered at every Sunday communion service.
