Largest parade in Andrews' history

Despite a wet welcoming,
Purple Heart droves of people came out to watch the Andrews town parade last Saturday.
Streets and sidewalks were lined with crowds of people, socializing and listening to music courtesy of WCNG's Ed Cloud. Christmas tunes echoed through the town as the first floats approached downtown.
Parade Marshal Chuck Reid announced that the parade was Andrews' largest to date and promised an amazing light spectacle.
Parade-goers were not dissapointed

and Andrews aldermen strolled down the street, decorated and lights blazing.
Candy was tossed out from floats depicting nativity scenes, Santa's house, Charlie Brown's Christmas, and other creative motifs that all competed to be named the top three best floats.

the parade are the Veterans of Foreign War, Cherokee County Transit, Marine Corps Toys for Tots, several schools including Nantahala and Andrews homecoming courts and local churches.
The event provided over an hour of entertainment for children and adults alike. Santa Claus and his wife made an appearance at the end of the parade, hitching a ride on the
back of a firetruck.
Next weekend Andrews
will play host to another holi-
holiday
parade, an equine parade.
Christmas on Horseback will
take place on December 15th at 2:00 p.m. with over 30 horses and their riders trotting through
Andrews for a majestic ride not to be missed. returned to
