Bringing home first place

The Murphy Pathfinder drill team from the Murphy Seventh-day Adventist Church's Pathfinder Youth Club attended a tristate drill competition in March. This activity was held at Lee University in Cleveland, TN. The Murphy drill team competed along with eighteen other club teams for trophies. In order to receive a first place trophy a team must earn a minimum score of 460 points. The teams were judged in five categories: precision, originality, complexity, difficulty, and overall appearance/ inspection. The Murphy team's score totaled 486 points and was awarded a first place trophy! This winning team consisted of Victoria Schutte, Rachel Aldrich (drill instructor) and Elizabeth Schutte pictured in the back row left to right; Joseph Stephens, Jonathan Stephens, Andrew Um, Thomas Bradbury, James Um, and Scot Brunner are pictured in the front row. Six members of the team, including the instructor, are students at Murphy Adventist Christian School.
