IMOGENE HANEY

Imogene Haney, age 78, of the Red Marble Community of Andrews, NC departed this life on Sunday, April 27, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born in the Nantahala Community of Macon County, NC. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Red Marble Baptist Church in Andrews, NC. She had retired form Lee's Manufacturing and from Berkshire Manufacturing. Imogene was the daughter of the late Garland and Myrtle Cothern Haney. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Townsend and Geneva Haney; four brothers, Carroll Haney, Jr. Haney, Carlile Haney and Willard Haney.

She is survived by two sons, Chuck Haney and his wife, Teresa of Andrews, NC and David Robertson and his wife, Gail of Snellville, GA; three sisters, Louise Haney of the home, Margie Hardin of Savannah, Tennessee, and Eva Kay Beavers of California; three brothers, Kenneth Haney of Andrews, NC, Terry Haney of Robbinsville, NC and Jerry Haney of Warne, NC; seven grandchildren, Brandie Hopkins and her husband Charlie of Sylva, NC, Tiffany Scanlan and her husband Rex of the home, Sarah Beth Robertson of Snellville, GA, Ryan Robertson of Mid-town, Atlanta, Drew Robertson of Loganville, GA, Blake Sammon of Snellville, GA and BJ Sammon of Snellville, GA; one great-granddaughter, Alexandria Hopkins of Sylva, NC; several nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews also survive.

The family received friends at the home at 1524 Red Marble Road Andrews, NC from 5:00 PM Tuesday, April 29, 2008, until placed in the Red Marble Baptist Church in Andrews, NC at 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Wednesday, April 30, 2008.

Funeral Services were held at 7:00 PM Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at the Red Marble Baptist Church. The Rev. Mickey Stewart will officiate. Burial will be in the Red Marble Baptist Church Cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
