MARY RUTH PENDERGRASS

Mary Ruth Pendergrass, age 66, of Coalville Road, Marble, NC died Friday, May 2, 2008 at her residence.

She was a native of Graham County, NC. She was a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Murphy, NC, loved singing in the choir, her flowers and spending time with her family. She had worked at Peachtree Products and Levis. She was the daughter of Beulah Lillian Adams Jordan of Marble, NC and the late Noah Herman Jordan. She was preceded in death by brother, Terry (Tuck) Jordan; a sister, Linda Kay Jordan and a son Brian Pendergrass.

She is survived by in addition to her mother, her husband, Donald Buford Pendergrass; two sons, Brandon Pendergrass of Marble, NC and Dustin Pendergrass of the home; one daughter, Pamela Freeman and her husband J.L. of Marble, NC; fivebrothers, Willie Jordan of Robbinsville, NC, R.L. Jordan of Andrews, NC, Perry Jordan of Marble, NC, Ronnie Jordan of Fletcher, NC and Jeffrey Jordan of Robbinsville, NC; one sister, Lee Ellen Rickett of Andrews, NC; four grandchildren, Joe Freeman and his wife Lynn of Hayesville, NC, Alex Freeman and his fiancé Felicia of Andrews, NC, Windi Freeman of Marble, NC and Breezlee Freeman of Marble, NC and one great-grandson, Jeremiah Freeman of Hayesville, NC.

Funeral Services were held at the 2:00 P.M., Monday May 5, 2008 at the Lone Oak Baptist Church in Robbinsville, NC. Rev. Tommy Messer and Rev. Ronald Patterson will officiate. Interment will be in the Church Cemetery in Robbinsville, NC. Pallbearers will be Tony Hall, J.R. Peals, Joe Freeman, Alex Freeman, Dennis Ashe and Peewee Gibby. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Gibby and Mark Palmer.

The family received friends from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M., Monday May 5, 2008 at the Townson-Rose Chapel in Andrews, NC and from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the Lone Oak Baptist Church in Robbinsville, NC.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made In Memory of Mary Ruth Pendergrass to the St. Judes Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105.
