Learning the importance of clean water

The 20th Annual Cherokee County Soil and Water Conservation District held the 2008 Conservation Field Day for all Cherokee County 6th graders. Kelly McDonald, Math and Science Teacher at Ranger Middle School watches as her class experiments with the water quality of the Hiwassee River here in Murphy. Callie Moore of the Hiwassee River Watershed Coalition led the class in an educational activity about water quality, the effects of poor water quality and what causes good and bad water quality.
