Training for Victim Advocate Response Team The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office will be holding a training workshop in August for volunteers interested in becoming members of the Victim Advocate Response Team. The extensive training program involves several nights in a classroom setting, eight hours ride time with an officer and four hours of observance time with 911 Dispatch. Initial topics covered include, but are not limited to, on-scene responses to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, child abuse, survivors of alcohol-related crashes and survivors of homicide victims. Once training is completed, Response Members will be equipped to respond 24/7.
