CLARA HEMBREE

Clara Truett Hembree, age 87, of Airport Road Marble, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at her residence.

She was a native of Cherokee County. Clara Belle was a homemaker and she was a member and Sunday school teacher at Rowland Hill Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Rev. James L. and Martha Ann Hardin Truett. She was preceded in death by her four brothers, Ruben Truett, Sid Truett, Vincent Truett and Lowen Truett; three sisters, Imogene Bradley, Lois Howard and Bertha Bush.

She is survived by her husband, Woodrow Hembree; two sons, Kenneth Hembree and his wife Carolyn of Andrews, and James L. Hembree and his wife Violet of Goose Creek, SC; one sister, Jewell Howard of Andrews; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. at her home on Thursday, August 14, and from 1-2 p.m. Friday, August 15, at the Townson-Rose Chapel in Andrews.

Funeral Services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, August 15, at the Townson-Rose Chapel in Andrews. The Revs. Frank Ledford, William Lee and Donald Watkins officiated. Interment was in the Moss Cemetery in Marble.

Pallbearers were grandsons, Larry Hembree, Greg Hembree, Gary Hembree, Russell Hembree, Josh Hembree and Allen Hembree.
