Gladys Taylor

Gladys Campbell Taylor, age 86, of Gastonia, NC and formerly of Murphy, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2008.

She was a native of Cherokee County. She was the daughter of the late Richard Pierson and Grace Quinn Campbell. She was a sales representitive for Isleys Dairy in Struthers, Ohio. Gladys was a member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in the Hiwassee Dam area. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur E. Taylor who passed away in 1990.

She is survived by her son, Billy R. Deitz and his wife Edith of Gastonia; one daughter, Bobbie D. Bradshaw and her husband Toby of Charleston, SC; three sisters, Martha Nell Garland of Newnan, Ga., Geneva Mathison and Nora Lee Ferguson both of Young Harris, Ga.; three grandchildren, Barry Deitz and his wife Sandra, Leslie Deitz Lail and Kristin Bradshaw and two greatgrandchildren, Cory Deitz and Christopher Deitz.

Funeral Services were at 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 20, at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Murphy. TheRevs. Kenneth Kephart and Jerry Morrow officiated. Burial was in the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Michael Campbell, Pat Campbell, Rodney Campbell, Terry John Campbell, Israel Campbell and Keith Campbell.

The family received friends from 10-11 a.m., Wednesday, August 20, at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Murphy.
