Everett Panther

 
Everett McArthur Panther, age 66 of Andrews, passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at his residence.

He was a native of Clay County, and the son of the late James Thurman Panther and Edna Monkus Panther. He was retired as a rip saw operator from Baker Furniture in Andrews. He was a member of the Junuluska Baptist Church and loved to fish. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lou Ellen Campbell.

He is survived by his wife, Earlene Millsaps Panther; two sons, Johnny Ray Walker of Andrews, and Chris Walker and his wife Becky of Mineral Bluff, Ga.; one daughter, Rhonda Kay Hardin of Rockledge, Fla.; five grandchildren, Tiffany Hardin, Tabitha Hardin, Terra Walker, Johnny Walker and Anna Walker; special nephews, Edward Holloway and his wife Teresa and Robert Bruce and his wife Edna Mae and several other nieces and nephews.

The family received friends from 6-8 p.m., Friday, August 29, at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home in Murphy.

Funeral Services were held at 8 p.m., Friday, August 29, 2008 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. The Revs. Lewis Welch and Jerry Lambert officiated.

Singers were Jackie Tramel, Katie Tramel, Jacob Tramel and Kayle Breazeale. Burial was at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 30, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in the Peachtree community.

Pallbearers were Edward Holloway, R.L. Bruce, Roger Wooten, Scott West, Roy West and Melvin Hicks. Honorary pallbearers were Joe Lanthere and Austin West.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in memory of Everett McArthur Panther to the Junaluska Baptist Church Building Fund, 4808 Junaluska Road, Andrews, NC 28901, or to the Good Shepherd Home Health and Hospice Agency, PO Box 465, Hayesville, NC 28904.
