Indebted to generous people in Murphy

On Friday, August 8, we were coming across the Tennessee border and our van broke down. We pulled over at Herb's Barbeque and we tried to call AAA but could get no signal. Thenice man in the restaurant allowed us to use his phone and call AAA. We were picked up by the nearest AAA location. It was Payne's Tire and Auto.

When we got there Dave Terry checked out our van and determined that a spark plug was misfiring. Dave tried to remove the spark plug but it was wedged in there. Linda Payne, the owner, called all around trying to get a rental for us and they said that our van was too heavy to be towed. Thelocal rental place had no vehicles and you had to return the vehicle to Murphy if rented. We live in Henderson, NC, about 400 miles away. We were basically stuck in Murphy. Linda carried us to a motel in Murphy but we had no transportation for 5 days.

Dave worked on my van on his day off on Sunday and found out that the wrong spark plugs were put in my van by a dealer in Henderson. Dave took pictures of the problem, wrote a statement completely stating the problem to the core and treated us very nicely. Linda also wrote a statement telling of our problems and what we went through while in Murphy. Theycharged us $45/ hour while the rate in Henderson is $85/hr.

Dave and Linda went above and beyond their call od duty to help us out. Because of their written testimony I am recovering all losses from the Chrysler dealership in Henderson suffered due to their negligence. I wish that Henderson had such honest and knowledgable and pleasant people as I experienced at Payne's Auto. As a matter of fact most of the people that we dealt with in Murphy were nice. I am forever indebted to Linda and Dave for their effort and outstanding service as I wish that they were located in Henderson because if they were, they would get all of my business.
