Pesticide license exams will be offered December 3 for anyone wanting to obtain a private or commercial pesticide license. This event will be held at the Andrews Community Building beginning at 9 a.m. To register, call the Cherokee County Extension office at (828) 837-2210. If you need study booklets, call or come by our office for an order form. This will be the only exam offered in this area for 2008 until December 2009.

Local award winning watercolor artist Penny Johnson will be featuring her works of art at Shoebooties Cafe now through January. The restaurant is located at 107 Peachtree in downtown Murphy. The artists works depicts many of the landscapes that are found in this area such as the mountains, waterfalls, lakes and rivers.

A two-hour Creative Memories workshop will be held on Friday, December 5 from 3-5 p.m. at the office of One Dozen Who Care (ODWC), 65 Wilson Street, Suite 6, Andrews.
